Welcome to Extreme Edge Indoor Climbing Wall Hamilton, and our new ClimbZone.
We are the largest indoor rock climbingfacility in the Waikato and we have heapsof great quality climbs suitable forbeginners through to advanced lead climbers.Climbing is a fun, safe sport for people ofany age and fitness level. You do not needto be a great athlete to have a great time andwe can provide all the gear you need.
No membership is required, no experience is necessary and all first-timers get a free safety lesson from one of our experienced instructors. They’ll teach you how to be safe at the wall, how to use our state of the art equipment and give you some pointers on which area of the gym will probably suit you best.
Now, don’t be scared by the word “Gym” that we used earlier, anyone and everyone can have a good time here. You can keep fit and get stronger and more flexible without even realising it’s happening! We’re pretty sure that’s the only kind of gym that should be allowed.
Central North Island Regional Sportclimbing Series 2012
The regional series is on the way again - get training now for some seriously fun competition days! This year there are 3 confirmed rounds: Hamilton, Rotorua, and Taupo ( other possibles are the Mt Maunganui and Turangi walls). Age groups are under12, u14, u16, u18, open (and masters sometimes) for both males and females.
The regional competitions are about fun and participation as well as results, so come along and have a go. Dates for the events are:
Sunday 1 April - Extreme Edge, Hamilton The ClimbZone will still be open to the public during this event, and some of the top ropes as well. Please park on the road if the car park is full.

The Climbzone is aimed at younger people but is open to people of all ages. The climbzone is bright and colouful - perfect for birthday parties, class trips and family outings.
The Climbzone also features automatic belay systems so mum and dad can have a coffee (or a climb!) while kids climb safely. Supervision is still required for those under 14 years and belayers are still required in the Extreme Edge (the older walls).
